Terms of use

Terms of use for Monti

Last updated: 17 July 2026

Welcome to Monti. We're glad you're here. These terms explain what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. We have tried to write them in language people actually understand. Please read them before you start using the service.

1. Who we are

Monti is an online marketplace for Malta and Gozo, operated under the name Monti ("Monti", "we", "us"). Monti is run by the same team that runs the Norwegian marketplace Finnting — one operator, two marketplaces; our privacy policy explains what that means for your account. The easiest way to reach us is by email: support@pjazzo.com.

2. Acceptance of the terms

When you create an account, post a listing or otherwise use Monti, you are also saying yes to these terms of use. If there is anything here you cannot stand behind, we ask you to refrain from using the service.

If you use Monti on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these terms.

3. What Monti is — and is not

Monti is a facilitation platform and a meeting place. We connect people who want to buy and sell cars, property, boats and second-hand goods in Malta. That is all we do — but we do it gladly.

We are not a party to the transaction between buyer and seller. When two users agree on a deal, it is an agreement between them, not with us. Among other things, that means:

In short: we put you in contact. The rest you agree between yourselves. Meet in the open, arrange a safe settlement, and use common sense.

The same goes for property. Monti publishes property listings, but we are not an estate agent, property broker or property consultant within the meaning of the Property Market Agency Act (Cap. 644 of the Laws of Malta): we never negotiate on anyone's behalf, conduct viewings, hold deposits or verify title. If you want licensed professional help with a sale or purchase, engage a licensed estate agent — and in any case the final deed is a matter for a notary.

4. Your account and your responsibility

To use parts of Monti you need an account. You are responsible for:

Everything that happens from your account is regarded as your responsibility. You must be of legal age (18 or over) to create an account on your own.

5. Permitted and prohibited content

We want Monti to be a safe and tidy place to be. That is why some things do not belong here. You must not:

By using Monti, you promise to stay within applicable law and these terms.

6. Rules for listings

When you post a listing, we ask you to:

You own the content you post, but you grant us a right to display, store and distribute it within the service so your listing reaches people (see section 10).

7. What does Monti cost?

Through all of 2027, everything on Monti is free — for private individuals and businesses alike. And an ordinary private listing is free not just now, but always: we will never charge you for posting a normal ad, and your listing never disappears behind a paywall.

Some optional extras — such as featured listings and business accounts — are planned to carry a price after the campaign period. Those future prices are already published on our prices page, so you know what something will cost long before it costs anything. If a price is ever introduced or changed, it appears there first — no surprises, and no prices hidden behind "contact us".

8. Selling as a business — and buying from one

If you sell in the course of a trade or business, you must make that clear in your listing and identify yourself as a trader. Consumers who buy from you have mandatory rights under Maltese and EU consumer law, including:

Purely private sales between consumers (C2C) are not covered by the consumer-guarantee rules — the item is bought as agreed between the parties. That is normal for a classifieds marketplace, but it is also why our safe-trading advice matters.

9. Disclaimer — the service is provided «as is»

Monti is provided «as is» and «as available». The service may at times have errors, downtime, missing features and changes without notice.

We give no guarantees that the service will always be available, error-free, secure or fit for a particular purpose. Nor do we guarantee the quality, accuracy or legality of listings and user content.

10. Intellectual property rights

The Monti name, the logo, the design and the platform itself belong to us. You may use the service, but you may not copy, resell or exploit it without an agreement with us.

The content you post yourself remains yours. By posting it you grant Monti a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to store, display, adapt (for example scale images) and make the content available in the service, for as long as the listing is active.

11. Moderation and removal

To keep things tidy we reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, to:

We try to be reasonable and give notice where appropriate. If we remove your listing or restrict your account and you believe we got it wrong, contact us at support@pjazzo.com and we will take a second look.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Monti is not liable for:

Since Monti is a free facilitation service and not a party to the transaction, any liability is in any event limited to the minimum required by law. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory rights you have as a consumer under Maltese law (including the Consumer Affairs Act, Cap. 378) or EU consumer-protection law.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Malta. Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably are subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Malta. If you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, nor of any right to bring proceedings there.

Any disputes shall first be sought resolved amicably — please contact us at support@pjazzo.com and we will do our best to sort things out.

14. Consumer complaints and out-of-court resolution

If you have a complaint about Monti itself, contact us first at support@pjazzo.com. If we cannot resolve it, consumers in Malta can turn to the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA) — mccaa.org.mt — which offers conciliation, and for smaller monetary claims to the Consumer Claims Tribunal. Consumers elsewhere in the EU can also get guidance from their local European Consumer Centre (ECC).

Disputes about a purchase belong between the buyer and the seller — but the same bodies can assist consumers in disputes with a trader they found through Monti.

15. Changes to the terms

The terms may change as the service and the law evolve. In the event of material changes we will try to notify you in a reasonable way, for example within the service. If you continue to use Monti after the changes have taken effect, we regard that as your acceptance of the updated terms.

16. Contact

Wondering about something, or want to report a breach of the terms? Please get in touch — we'd like to hear from you.
